4 Mexican policemen slain near Arizona border
HERMOSILLO, Mexico — The bullet-riddled bodies of four Mexican policemen were found today about 20 miles south of the Arizona border, and the anti-kidnapping chief in another northern Mexico state was reported to have been kidnapped.
Sonora state Gov. Eduardo Bours said a group of armed men had seized the Cananea city police officers hours before they were found dead. He did not give a possible motive for the killings.
Mexico has seen a wave of attacks on police, military and intelligence officials as the government battles drug gangs.
State police were sent to reinforce security in the town.
Meanwhile, authorities in the northern state of Coahuila reported that men disguised as Mexican federal agents had kidnapped the state's chief anti-kidnapping investigator.''
Now, in light of that last story, what on earth would possess the people in Santa Fe to recruit Mexican nationals, non-citzens, to police their city?
Santa Fe cops may recruit Mexicans
SANTA FE — The Santa Fe Police Department is considering the possibility of recruiting Mexican nationals to fill vacant police jobs.
Sgts. Gillian Alessio and Marvin Paulk, who are in charge of the department's recruiting and training, said Tuesday they are considering alternative approaches to fill 20 vacancies on the city's 155-person police force.

The United States speeds up naturalization for foreigners who enlist in the U.S. military, and Alessio asked, "Why can't we do that with law enforcement?"
Gillian Alessio, I am assuming, is a woman. Probably a feminist, undoubtedly PC to the core. I suspect she really doesn't understand why we shouldn't bring non-citizens, from a corrupt and lawless country, to police an American (or quasi-American) city, and to put American citizens at the mercy of armed foreigners. If she is really that clueless, I cannot help her understand.
Have we lost our minds?
